Taskbar Popup Menu with Jump Lists and "Pin it to taskbar" malfunctions

Hello,

If i right click on a program on the taskbar, to open the jump list menu, it seems to malfunction. The background color of this menu is the same as the background color of the start screen. As a result, I am unable to read the popup menu if I am not hovering over the items. Furthermore the "X" for closing all windows and the "pin" for pinning the program to the taskbar do not seem to be in the right place.

I don't know how to fix this, can someone help me?

Thank you so much for your help!

Kind regards

Hi Margretos,

Thank you for your question.

By default, when we open jump list menu, the color of  font is black and the background color of jump list menu is white. You could post a snapshot of jump list menu and background of desktop to us.

We could change the background of desktop to other color which is different from the color of jump list menu, we could perform it by the following link:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-desktop-background-wallpaper#1TC=windows-7

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

Best Regard,

Ji

Jim,

If I read Margretos' question correctly. The color of the jump list is the same color as the Start Screen background color. In the snip I provide, the Start Screen background color is dark blue.

I'm having the very same problem. Here is what I see when I right-click on Outlook (mouse hovering at New Contact). I have changed the theme to high contrast, to the Lenovo default, the Windows Default, and a custom Windows them - but none affect the background on the jumplists. Removing programs and pinning new programs do not change this.

This is a brand new Thinkpad T450s; the other laptop in this custom-built batch does not have the problem.

P.S. - What? I can't insert a screen snip until my account has been verified? Well then, verify me! you can't see my (helpful) snip until then.

I am having the same exact problem. Go to the link below for an image. I am using remote desktop to capture this image but on the actual desktop the jump list is dark blue, not black as shown below. As you can also see you cannot read the text and the "pin" icon and "X" icons are not correct as their size is larger than the rest and not in the correct location. This is a clean computer that we just received and I started setting up yesterday.

Hello,

The problem has to do with the following update:

KB3072318

Go to add/remove programs -> installed updates and search for KB3072318. When found, uninstall it.
After reboot the jumplists will be normal again.

Greetings,

Arno
